Timed 5K Road Race – 9:00am | Community 5K Fun Run/Walk – 9:05am | Kids 3k – 10:00am

COURSE:
For the Kids 1k, participants will be racing two laps around the .3mi asphalt track located within the park boundaries.
TWIRL TURKEY TROT CRAFTS AREA:
We have partnered with Twirl Play and Discovery Place to bring fun fall activities to our families. Twirl’s team leaders will help Kids have a blast. The craft activity is FREE! for all families of runners entered in the 5K. $5 donation will be requested for any non runners. Children must have a responsible adult present with them at all times.
PARKING:
Plenty of free parking available around the Eco Park and in the adjacent dirt lot off of St Francis Ln.

Thanks to all our participants for a wonderful 4th annual Taos Turkey Trot! Together we raised $2300 for Get Fit Taos Kids programming, and we’re so happy to have been able to make our best donation yet. In 2011, TSA partnered with Nate Draeger and Karina Armijo to put on a timed 5k Road Race and Fun Run/Walk as another way to support local non-profits and encourage youth and community participation in healthy sports and recreation. The event was well received by the community as a fun way to kick-off the Holidays in Taos. This annual event takes place on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
The first year all proceeds benefitted the Taos High School Athletics Department. The second and third year all proceeds helped support the services of Get Fit Taos Kids. This year we again partnered with Get Fit Taos Kids to present this event and benefit their programs helping youth make healthy lifestyle choices. We also partnered with Twirl to provide a FREE! Kids Craft Activity (ages 8-14) during the race from 9-11:30am, and a shorter KidsK 3k for ages 3-12. We are continually working to expand this event to welcome more of our own community into this fun, festive and healthy atmosphere. Check out the slideshow below!
