Taos Sports Alliance currently presents two annual 5Ks, Spring’s Lilac Festival 5K and Autumn’s Taos Turkey Trot. Both events have a timed 5K/community fun run 5K and a Kids run component. Our mission with our running events is to promote tourism of the area to running enthusiasts and to create more opportunities for local youth and families to experience healthy fun activities in community.

Here are some additional links to running events taking place in our area Summer 2016 presented by our affiliates:

Taos Sports Alliance works in partnership with other local event producers and is behind the scenes helping with design, communications, PR and marketing for all other local running events. We have a goal to create a Taos Running Series which would include six separate events in the area between Spring to Fall to create a training support for local athletes, an incentive for visitors to return often to compete in the series, and greater cohesion and visibility among our various events. Stay tuned to this page and this site to learn more about how we will be expanding our offerings in 2016 and beyond.

Janice Sprint 100

Janice Medina takes her heat of the 100m, and is also one of Taos’ most decorated female field athletes holding the school shot put (2013) and discus (2014) records as well as #3 spot in the 100m behind current teammates Angelica Pacheco and Miranda Vigil.

Our events are sponsored by a variety of local and national businesses and special individuals who support the notion of sports and recreation development as a mechanism for improving quality of life in Taos County. All events are made possible by local volunteer teams who provide race day support. To assist TSA to produce our local events, get in touch today.
